Tom Schwartz is dedicated to educational and operational excellence while maintaining fiscal responsibility to our community.
Born and raised in McHenry County and a resident of the Richmond / Spring Grove area since 2014. Tom's daughter is a 2nd grader at Richmond Grade School.
Nearly 20 years of school district operations experience and currently serves as Operations Director for Johnsburg School District 12.
Extensive knowledge and leadership experience in school district maintenance and custodial operations as well as student transportation.
1st hand leadership experience in school improvement projects of all sizes, building additions, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Promotes effective and efficient operations practices to provide exceptional service while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Did you know the largest portion of your tax bill is paid to Nippersink School District 2?Tom Schwartz places an emphasis on the importance of the oversight of government spending and responsibility the board of education has to be good stewards of tax payer's money. Tom has a reputation of squeezing the nickel and stretching tax dollars to ensure tax payers are getting maximum value from their property tax contributions. Tom Schwartz believes in soliciting bids from multiple vendors and supporting local businesses whenever possible to keep tax dollars in the community.
Tom Schwartz will bring nearly 20 years of school district operations experience to Nippersink School District's board of education. With 1st hand leadership experience of school maintenance and custodial operations as well as transportation, it will bring a wealth of knowledge to the board which will prove beneficial in planning and decision making processes.
Did you know Nippersink School District 2 is considering placing a referendum on the ballot to leverage it's maximum borrowing power to issue approximately 20 million in bonds to finance facility improvements at it's 3 facilities? Tom Schwartz' experience in construction management and school renovations will play a key role in ensuring we are getting maximum value from funds allocated toward school improvements. With so many deferred projects across 3 facilities, we cannot afford to make costly mistakes in planning the upcoming renovations of our existing facilities.
Not only did Tom Schwartz play a key leadership role in managing the 41 million dollar renovations and additions in Johnsburg School District in 2016, Tom is very proud of the smaller in-house projects his team completes on a regular basis. Please read the Northwest Herald's article about the 1 million dollar facility improvement project that Tom led at Ringwood School Primary Center in neighboring Johnsburg School District. Tom's experience in effective and economical project management is sure to save money and add value to upcoming facility improvments.

It was great to meet and discuss various topics regarding the school district and answer questions about my background and goals as a potential school board member.
